Panorama
BY lars Lundehave hansen

11.05.24 - 15.09.24

The exhibition Panorama by Lars Lundehave Hansen explores the relationship between body and time through sound in artworks and artworks of sound.

Inspired by ancient Egyptian tombs, the Regelbau 411 bunkers are transformed into a total installation that lies at the intersection of archaeological fieldwork and futuristic science fiction.

The bunkers come to life as a mysterious universe filled with smoke and dead ends in a labyrinthine construction, where floors are speakers, walls are false, and mirrors and light create confusion. A multichannel composition forms an omnipresent soundscape that fluidly shifts themes as the visitor moves through the exhibition spaces.

Exploring the concept of sacred and profane spaces, the exhibition reflects on humanity’s enduring obsession with war and destruction. In this light, the bunkers appear as 20th-century war temples, simultaneously relics of a bygone civilization and hieroglyphs of a future yet to be discovered.

Conceived as a museum exhibition in a non-museum setting, Panorama provides a view into the black holes of our understanding of the world. In the corridors and passageways of the bunkers, we often lose our way while trying to navigate the complexities of space and time. Here, we must surrender to the sensuous fullness of the moment, where past and future blend together, if only for a short while.

Lars Lundehave Hansen (DK) works with sound as an artistic material and a central element in his installation artworks. With over 20 years of experience as a composer and sound artist, he has distinguished himself as one of the visionary pioneers in the field. Educated at the Jutland Art Academy, Lundehave Hansen has received awards both nationally and internationally.
